Morocco has been a first-choice destination for international film production for more than half a century, and the reason is remarkable versatility. Every shoot requires an official filming permit issued by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM), and only a registered Moroccan production services company can apply for it. Do I need a local production company to film in Morocco?
Yes. International productions must work with a registered Moroccan production services company, which applies for the filming permit through the CCM and takes legal responsibility for the shoot on Moroccan territory.
How much is the Morocco film cash rebate?
Eligible international productions can recover up to 30% of qualified spend incurred in Morocco. We assess eligibility, structure the local spend correctly, file the application and follow it through to payment.
Are there film studios in Morocco?
Yes. Ouarzazate and Marrakesh host large sound stages, backlots, standing sets and construction workshops used by major international productions for decades.
